It focuses on the ways in which advanced information technologies can support both border control processes and the logistical aspects of the movement of goods and people at the border. Through a review of existing IT systems, case studies and analysis of practices, this article identifies key challenges, benefits and potential innovations in the area of border flow management. The conclusions of this analysis can provide valuable guidance for practitioners, policymakers and researchers interested in improving logistics processes at borders using information systems.
